Grand Prix Information
Aims of the Grand Prix are:
· To provide an incentive to members to train for a goal or goals
· To promote a competitive spirit amongst Club members throughout the running year
· To encourage Club members to support and participate in races in the local region more often.
· To allow for more trophies to be won/presented at the end of season Club Presentation Night
The Members choose from a list of 24 “Official” races throughout the year with suggestions welcomed from members, to make up the Grand Prix.
Qualifying rules would be a runner’s best seven relative positional performances to count towards his or her Grand Prix points tally over the season.
For the age categories at least three races must be entered of any distance.
Bonus points can be scored when your current time is compared with your time for immediate past year.
The suggested classes are:
Open Competition
Open Winner;
Under 40(M) & 35(F)
Female Vets. Over 35 & as below
Male Vets. Over 40 Winner
Over 45 Winner (Male only)
Over 50 Winner
Over 60 Winner
Age group qualification is based on age on the 31st October at the start of the year of the competition
