Presentation Evening 2019

The annual presentation evening is usually held in October.  In 2019 it was held on Friday November 8, at Aston Wood Golf Club.  Photos from this event can be viewed here.

Paul Sebastian Cup

This trophy is presented annually to ‘the member of the year’, the person who fellow members feel  has contributed the most to the club in the previous year, continuing the traditions upon which the club was founded.   The recipient is nominated by club members and voted for at the club’s AGM.  The trophy is presented by Laureen Tunstall, Paul's sister, and is announced by the previous year's winner.

John Floyd Cup

This person is chosen by the Committee for their commitment and achievements for the club and has been presented to a male member from 2011.

Jane Buckerfield Trophy

This person is chosen by the Committee for their commitment and achievements for the club and has been presented to a female member from 2011.  The cup is presented by Dave Buckerfield.

Grand Prix

The Grand Prix is a set of races where club members can gain points according to their position within the club.  More details can be found on the Grand Prix page and the full rules are here.

Grand Prix – Age Group and category winners

2018/19 Ladies' winners: Lisa Wakeman (U35), Abby Wright (V35), Claire Crook (V40), Katrina Wyke (V45), Lorraine Beesley (V50) and Anne Kelsall (V60) 
2018/19 Men's winners: Adam Smith (U40), Gordon Walker (V40), ​Kevin Adams ​(V45), Trevor Harris (V50), Kevin Attwood (V55) and Simon Hudson (V60) 
The pothunter trophy goes to the member who has competed in the most races without qualifying for an overall or age category prize.  The novice trophy goes to a member who has not won an ARC award before but has shown commitment and achievement in the Grand Prix.

Aldridge 10k

Every year, club members act as stewards and officials for the Aldridge 10k, then we hold our own competition around the 10k and 5k routes the following Tuesday evening.  2018/19 winners were:
10k: Adam Smith and Karen Kiteley
5k
: Trevor Harris and Katrina Wyke.

Club handicap

Ron Reynolds organised the club handicap races, which were run monthly from April until September.  Individual race winners for 2018/19 were: Lisa Davies, Liz Holt, Kat Stevenson, Roxy Babla, Karen Murphy and Rebecca Steele.
Kara Nicholls and Lizi Chambers were the final joint winners overall.

Season's Best

Starting in 2018 we award certificates to those who achieved the best results for 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and Marathon for the previous calendar year.  The table of club records can be viewed here.

2018 record holders were:
​Men: Liam Harrold - 5k (17:25), Adam Smith - 10k (36:28), Dan Williams - HM (01:24:03) and Leigh Ally - Marathon (02:53:49)
Women: Louise Booker - 5k (21:03) and 10k (43:56), Lisa Wakeman - HM (01:40:01) and Lorraine Beesley - Marathon (03:38:40)

​The men's team finished in 7th place in the 3rd division.

The ladies' team finished 15th out of 21 clubs in the 2nd Division, and 9th out of 18 Masters' teams.

Best of the Vest

Each year we hold a competition for the best photograph of an ARC vest (or vests) in an unusual situation/location.
