With thanks to our official photographer, Luke White, photos showing the start, some from the water station, finish line and presentation, can be viewed on this link. Additionally, two of our enthusiastic marshals were waiting with music and dancing for runners as they turned into Hobs Hole Lane for the final climb and we are grateful to Nic for sharing her photos from the day on this link. Aldridge Running Club are proud to continue the tradition of covering volunteer positions through club members, who do not participate in the race, choosing instead to ensure the safety and success of the race, cheering and encourage others. We were also grateful this year for the support of ex-members and friends, also to members of local churches, who took time out on a Sunday morning to support the event, and to representatives of The Hawthorns Care Home and Aldridge Streetwatch.
We do not, however, deprive club members of the joy of Hobs Hole Lane, as we ran our own races the Tuesday after the main race, in conditions that were still very sunny and hot, even though it was an evening race. This year's club 10k winners were Dan WIlliams and Karen Kiteley, with Chris Sprules and Danni Warner coming first in the 5k club event.
