We had 60 parkrunners on Saturday 21st December, with 38 at Walsall Arboretum and 15 at Sutton Park. Congratulations to Adam Smith, 1st overall finisher at the Arboretum, also to Toby Oury (3rd) and Lisa Wakeman (4th lady). Well done also to Ian Jennings and Rebecca Beale, first ARC finishers at Sutton Park.

We had 46 parkrunners on Saturday 14th December, with 28 at Walsall Arboretum. Congratulations to Adam Smith and Lisa Wakeman, creating an ARC first with first male and female finishers, also to Mark Shaw (7th) and Daniel Day (10th).
Meanwhile, Jason Lee, Pauline Smith, Michael Davis, Barbara Johnson, Mandy Brassington-Harris, Pat Brazier and Louise Berry ran at the special 'yellow for Stephen Sutton' Chasewater whilst Lucy Walters, Tony Baker and Victoria O'Connor completed the course at Sutton Park.
Elsewhere Rachel Antoine and Lynda Elmore ran at East Park, Wolverhampton, Rebecca Steele ran at Sandwell Valley, Sarah Baggott ran at Cannon Hill and James Whitehouse ran at Brueton. Further afield in South Wales, Toby and Angela Oury ran at Colby and Geoff Card ran at Rogiet.

Sunday 15th saw another Grand Prix Race - the Wolverhampton Turkey Trot, which was cut short of its 5-mile planned length by a couple of laps of an icy track. Well done to our trotters: Daniel Williams, (00:30:07), Lorraine Beesley, (00:35:05, 1st VW50), Karen Kiteley, (00:36:10), Kevin Attwood, (00:36:30), Anne Kelsall, (00:41:53), Emma Lawton, (00:42:07), Barbara Johnson, (00:43:00), Rossella Bigongiari, (00:45:22), Abigail Wright, (00:45:57), Claire Obrien, (00:48:08), Tony Baker, (00:57:19) and Gemma Archer, (01:04:47). You all deserved those turkeys

Pauline Smith, Pamir Azami and Deborah Hartland ran at Chasewater whilst Geoff Card, Laura Kirwan, Tony Baker and Sarah-Anne Fitzsimmons completed the course at Sutton Park.
Elsewhere Mandy Brassington-Harris gained another PB at Cannock Chase, Viki Dobbs and Laura Malsbury ran at Kingsbury Water, James Whitehouse ran at Morcambe Prom and Richard Lodge ran at Ludlow.

Saturday also saw the second event in this season's Cross-Country league, another crucial event for our men seeking promotion. Well done to Liam Harrold (8th), Adam Smith (12th), Toby Oury (13th), Dan Williams (21st), Mark Shaw (36th) and Gordon Walker (48th) who consolidated the club's 3rd place so far, also to Steve Blakemore and Philip Morris, for fine performances but unfortunately we had insufficient members to make up a 'B' team this time. Well done also to our women's team of Karen Kiteley, Lorraine Beesley, Helen Beecham and Lizi Chambers, who gained 7th place overall, also to Anne Kelsall, Rossella Bigongiari, Wendy Sargeant, Abby Wright, Claire O'Brien and Judith Toase, who completed the team. In the Masters' competition our team of Karen, Lorraine and Helen took first place out of 15 complete teams. Well done all.
The main reason that numbers at other events were a little down was that 26 members were running in Lanzarote. Congratulations to all finishers:

The women's team consisted of Karen Kiteley, Helen Beecham, Wendy Sargeant, Jane Quinn, Claire O'Brien, Rossella Bigongiari, Louise Berry and Judith Toase and the men's team was Liam Harrold, Toby Oury, Adam Smith, Dan Williams, Mark Shaw, Gordon Walker, Steve Blakemore, Mark O'Rourke, Philip Morris, Simon Hudson, Marcus Nye, Les Reeves, Lawrence Hewitt and Barry Cheema. Congratulations to Liam, Toby, Adam, Dan, Mark and Gordon, who gained the men's 'A' Team 3rd place overall, only 4 points behind the 1st and 2nd teams, also to the 'B' team of Steve, Mark, Phil, Simon, Marcus and Les, who came 5th. The depleted women's team were happy to come 21st overall and 19th Masters out of 24 teams. Particular 'well done' and 'thank you' to Gordon, running his first cross-country event for ARC and to Wendy, returning after an absence of many years - both contributed to their team's overall position. Thanks to Henry Simpson and Anne Kelsall for acting as officials, also to Freddie Penrose and Sue & Steve Benzie who braved the weather to come and support both teams.

We had 63 parkrunners on Saturday 7th September, with 40 at Walsall Arboretum and 14 at Chasewater. Congratulations to Adam Smith, who was 2nd overall finisher, setting a new club 5k record of 16:35, also to Liam Harrold (3rd) and to Louise Booker (1st ARC lady). Well done to Trevor Harris, first ARC finisher at Chasewater and to Jo Stevens (5th lady overall), Charlotte Newman (8th lady) and Katrina Wyke (9th lady), also to James Whitehouse, 9th overall finisher at the challenging Churchfields Farm, Droitwich. Our club team of Abby Wright (2), Karen Kiteley (3), Eamon Lyons (3), Lynda Elmore (3), Trevor Harris (3), Rob Foster (2), Guest Mike Rogers (3), and Simon Hudson (3) completed 22 laps, coming in 78th place, whilst Helen Phillips and Jason Vigrass each completed a lap as part of a family team completing 15 laps, coming in 178th place. Martin Wall and Katrina Wyke also completed laps in addition to their own 10k race Well done all!

The weekend of 13-14th July saw three club records broken, a string of top 10 finishers in both parkrun and other events and one member becoming an Ironman.
We had 55 parkrunners on Saturday 13th July, with 27 at Walsall Arboretum, 13 at Sutton Park and 7 at Chasewater. Congratulations to Adam Smith, 5th overall finisher at the Arboretum in a PB and yet another new club 5k record of 16:43, also to Liam Harrold (9th), Lizi Chambers, first ARC female finisher and to Gordon Walker, who set a new club V45 5k record at 17:56. Trevor Harris was first ARC finisher at Sutton Park, whilst Katrina Wyke was 4th overall lady, with Carina Davin 7th. Additionally Nick Ford was first ARC finisher at Chasewater, with Pauline Smith first ARC female.
