There will be a new training group starting on Tuesday January 10th, particularly aimed at those who would like to improve their 5k time. This will be run by Lucy Baker, Henry Simpson and Tim Farmer. Please ask one of them if you would like to join this group.
There was a second double parkrun opportunity over the New Year Weekend.
On Saturday December 31st ARC had 61 parkrunners and walkers, with 27 at Walsall Arboretum and two in Perth, Australia.

On New Year's Day ARC had 38 parkrunners and walkers, with 7 at Sutton Park. and 19 at Chasewater. There was no event at Walsall.
Congratulations to Michael Morley, who was our only top-ten finisher, coming in 1st place at Severn Valley Country Park, also topping the age-graded table, also to John Pearce, who came 6th in the age-graded table at Chasewater.

On Tuesday December 13th Steve Woolley was remembered in the annual Woolley's Winter Warmer post-run curry, with thanks to Jo Yarnall for organising. This year some members were also directed around a reindeer route by Emily Grimwade Thank you Emily.

- Our Men's team of Adam Smith (13th), Bruce Fanshawe (33rd), Liam Harrold (36th), Lee Harris (66th), Toby Oury (71st) and Ben Dean (90th) came 8th in their Division 2 race, with 14 clubs fielding full teams. Also competing were Peter Dimbleby (121st), Stephen Marshall (125th) and Harshad Patel (146th), in a field of 196 runners.

Thursday 28th:
Friday 29th saw the start of the Commonwealth Games and it was good to note a number of club members donning the volunteers' uniform in various roles and locations. There was a noticeable ARC presence at the Triathlon in Sutton Park on 29th and 31st, with a loud group on the run route in the park and Lizi and Liam making the most of their location on the bike route, sporting an ARC flag in the garden and hosting a mini-ARC social!

Friday 29th saw the start of the Commonwealth Games and it was good to note a number of club members donning the volunteers' uniform in various roles and locations. There was a noticeable ARC presence at the Triathlon in Sutton Park on 29th and 31st, with a loud group on the run route in the park and Lizi and Liam making the most of their location on the bike route, sporting an ARC flag in the garden and hosting a mini-ARC social!

These ended with ARC's men's team qualifying for the National Championships, which will be held on Saturday 9th April. ARC had 40 parkrunners on New Year's Day, with 16 at Sutton Park. Chasewater remains closed and Walsall chose to continue their usual pattern of not having a New Year parkrun.
