The Grand Prix competition for the 2023-24 season will commence with the Action Heart 'Tuff-un' 6 mile and the Big Bird 5k, both taking place on Sunday 26th November due to the cancellation of Cannock Rotary 10k. The 2023-2024 Races list includes a number of favourites from previous seasons with additions from member suggestions and races that may run again, dates to be confirmed. We will review these as the season progresses. Age categories have been calculated with a start date from the presentation evening of 21st October 2023.

Aims of the Grand Prix |
Most races are on Sundays, where this is different the day is given.
|
To provide an incentive to members to train for a goal or goals. To promote a competitive spirit amongst Club members throughout the running year.
To encourage Club members to support and participate in races in the local region more often. To allow for more trophies to be won/presented at the end of season Club Presentation Night. How it Works
Members choose from a list of “Official” races throughout the year with suggestions welcomed from members, to make up the Grand Prix.
Points are awarded according to position relative to ARC runners - 20 for 1st, 19 for 2nd, 18 for 3rd etc... Points are calculated separately for the overall Mens' and Ladies' competitions and within each age category. In the event of there being more than 20 runners in a category the points will start at the number of runners. Where there are different distances within the same race the higher points will be allocated to the longer race, then points for shorter races will follow on. To qualify for points you must enter under your own name and under Aldridge Running Club. Please check this has been done before you race. A runner’s best seven scores are added to produce his or her Grand Prix points tally over the season. In the event of a tie, scores for 8th, 9th, 10th races etc are included until there is an overall winner or one of the runners has no more scores to add. If there is still a tie the winner will be decided by comparing scores in races where both have run together. To be eligible for a trophy a runner must enter a minimum of 7 events from the list on this page. Full rules can be downloaded here |
