This week's Club News:
The latest guidance from England Athletics and the Trail Running Association allows for some races to take place, with strict guidelines regarding procedures and numbers, meaning most races remain cancelled. See our diary page for the current situation with official races, as we know it. So long as you and your family are well and symptom-free and you are not in an 'at risk' category then running/cycling/walking, in non-crowded areas, following social-distancing guidelines, is a good way of maintaining both physical and mental well-being. Please be considerate of other people when you are out running.
The committee has developed a risk assessment and guidelines for small-group running on club nights (Tuesdays) and informal Thursday evening runs (6pm-6.30 starts). These guidelines are in accordance with current Government advice and restrictions, also with the England Athletics Recovery Plan. Please make sure you read and follow the guidelines and risk assessment.

We like to think of ARC as a friendly, supportive club. The video clip below, taken from Cannon Hill Park, on the route of the Birmingham Marathon and Half on October 15 2017 shows us at our best. Some of the supporters had entered one of the races but had to pull out due to injury but instead of moping about it they came and cheered on all those who were running, despite the logistical difficulties of getting there with all the road closures. Well done Sarah Hinkley and crew!
