Support ARC Members Here

Over the years, ARC members have raised thousands of pounds for different charities, often but not exclusively in connection with the London Marathon.  See below for details of those who are currently fundraising for other events, whether it be in connection with a single event or a longer-term challenge.

If you're about to start fundraising did you know that there are alternatives to JustGiving and they probably are a better deal for the charity?  You can read about the fees charged by charity giving sites here. although this page is now quite old.  JustGiving have removed their 5% donation fee but still charge 5% on Gift Aid reclaims.  MyDonate closes at the end of June 2019.

When you have set up your fundraising page, don't forget to email details so that you can be included here.

Long-term Challenges:

Victoria Bird is taking on a year of challenges from June 2018 - May 2019.  She says:

"My little girl has lung problems and has been very poorly since early toddlerhood with infections but more so since January 2017. While we are trying to find a diagnosis and get used to this way of life the British Lung Foundation have been amazing with their help. I have spent many a sleepless night at hospital wondering what will happen and their advice over the phone, emails and website has been a source of comfort and help at a much needed time. I want to help give something back and help little ones and adults suffering with lung conditions. My fundraising journey of a year will start at the beginning of June- 1st 2018 and end 31st May 2019, I am aiming big and hope to raise a lot of money".

You can support Victoria through her ViginMoneyGiving page.

Individual Events:

Great Midlands Fun Run, 2nd June

Freddie Penrose ran the popular Sutton course in aid of Birmingham Mind.

Freddie says: "I’m running the Great Midlands Fun Run for Birmingham Mind - Mental Health as it’s a charity and support very close to my heart.

Mental health is no joking matter, it affects each and everyone one of us throughout our day to day lives. There are many people who hide their suffering and, this charity is there to help support these people.

I know from experience how difficult life can be suffering in secrecy, so let’s please help raise money for Mind who specifically help people who live in that situation.

Freddie raised over £375 for MIND.  You can still support him through his JustGiving page

Louise Berry is tackling two challenging events this year, in order to raise money for The UK Sepsis Trust.

In July 2019 she will be taking part in a 25km trek in the Brecon Beacons which will include ascending Pen Y Fan and in September she will be participating in the Great North Run. Both of these challenges are in memory of her dad who died suddenly from Sepsis.
