Past Award Winners - Volunteer of the YEar
Every effort is valued here at Aldridge Running Club. Over the years the club Committee has recognised running achievements through the Dave Buckerfield and John Floyd awards.
However, in 2023 year the Committee made the decision to make an additional award to reward those at the club who have volunteered their services; those behind the scenes, those without whose help events just wouldn’t take place.
Volunteering for the club comes in all shapes and sizes. It encompasses volunteering at events that the club have laid on - for example the 10k, cross country events and handicap races - by setting up, marshalling, taking down etc. It also includes events at which the club provides support, for example the annual Aldridge Remembrance Day parade and the Aldridge Christmas Tree Festival, and special fundraising/charity events organised by members, for example organising foodbank runs. It might involve taking photos, volunteering at parkruns and promoting our 10k races, carrying out various admin tasks for the club.... The list is endless.
The committee want to reward that effort in giving an award to the person who they think has contributed the most in volunteering their services for the club.
